Lesson 1: The Impulse-Momentum Change Theorem

Lesson 1 discusses the concept of momentum and the loss and gain of it in situations in which impulses are experienced. Items in the group's pool include strobe photos of bullets piercing water balloons, grapes and egss, photos of athletes (pitchers and batters in baseball, tennis players, ping pong players, boxers), meteor craters, bumper cars, and martial arts experts, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 1 of the Momentum and Its Conservation chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.

Lesson 2: The Law of Momentum Conservation

Lesson 2 discusses the application of Newton's laws to the analysis of collisions. The law of conservation of momentum in an isolated system is explained and used to analyze collisions. Items in the group's pool include objects and phenomena such as Newton's cradle, water balloon popping, strobed water drops, air puck collisions, billiards, rockets, boxers, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 2 of the Momentum and Its Conservation chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.
